RACE-DAY REMINDER
Thank you for registering for Jüri Jaanson’s Two Bridges Race! To make that day enjoyable for everyone please read the details below. The organizers reserve the right to make changes to the event program and conditions set out in this guide.
GIVING OUT RACE MATERIALS
Competition centre at Pärnu Keskus (Aida tn 7)
August 29 from 12:00 to 18:00
August 30 from 12:00 to 18:00.
Competition centre at Endla Theatre (Keskväljak 1)
August 31 from 16:00 to 21:00 (at the square in front of the theatre)
September 1 from 10:00 to 11:45 (at the theatre lobby)
Race materials are handed out on the basis of bib number, i.e. start materials are sorted by the numbers, not by names. Therefore, please check your number from the start protocol in advance! Protocols with start numbers will be published on the website of the Two Bridges Club latest on August 29 by 11:00 at the latest.
In case of lost, damaged or forgotten race bib a new bib must be bought from secretariat to start the race. NB! Fee for the new race bib is 5€.
PARKING:Parking in public city parking lots in Pärnu is paid on Saturdays in the city center and old town areas, and free on Sundays. In private parking lots (e.g., Europark), the service provider’s rules and prices apply. Please carefully observe the parking signs. You can familiarize yourself with Pärnu city parking arrangements here.
TRAFFIC CONTROL: The Old Bridge of Pärnu is closed during the race start at 11.55-12.15. Also the streets around Vaasa park area are closed.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT: Due to the start of the school year, public transport in Pärnu will be free for everyone from August 30 to September 4.
TOILETS: Are placed in the competition centre.
CHANGING ROOMS: Changing rooms will be arranged in tents at the competition center.
BAGGAGE SERVICE: Supervised bag storage is located in a tent in front of the Endla Theatre. The storage will be open from 10:00 to 14:15.
START: The start will be given at 12:00 from the competition center in Vaasa Park. The start corridors will open at 11:30.
START GROUPS: Each participant is required to start from the start group assigned to them based on their bib number. Otherwise, the participant will be disqualified. Please enter the correct start corridor in time.

ROUTE: The 10 km course runs on paved pedestrian roads. Every kilometer is marked. The course was certified in 2023 and meets international quality standards (World Athletics, AIMS). Due to the construction of the third bridge, the running track has been partially modified: on the right bank on Rääma Street and on the left bank on Vingi and Laia Streets, the course runs around the embankment. TIMING: The timing chip is attached to the inside of the bib number. Please check it before the start! Only participants with a Two Bridges Race or Walk bib number will be allowed to start. The bib number must be attached to the chest and be visible throughout the competition. The bib number is personal. Only the registered participant is allowed to compete with the specific bib number. Please do not fold the bib and do not remove the timing chip. The chip deactivates at the finish, and it does not need to be returned to the organizer. At the finish, do not cover the number with your hand (e.g., to stop a sports watch) as the result may not be recorded. Timing is provided by ChampionChip Estonia OÜ.
SERVICE ON TRACK: First aid on the course and at the competition center is provided by Pärnu Ambulance and volunteer first aid workers. If you notice that a fellow participant is experiencing health problems, please immediately inform the service point on the course, the first aid workers, organizing staff, or call the emergency number 112. There are two service points on the course (SP), offering sports drinks and water. The service points are organized by the Pärnu Rowing Club (3.3 km) and Pärnu Rowing Center Kalev (6.3 km).
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION: Please bring your own cup or bottle to the course and reduce the environmental impact. There will be a water station at the start and finish area, and appropriate containers in the course service points for refilling.
FINISH: The finish will close at 14:00. Each participant will receive a bottle of water and a food packet (delicacy by Farmi, banana, and pastry) at the finish.
WASTE SORTING: In cooperation with the waste management company Paikre, the organizer is making an effort to reduce the environmental footprint through waste sorting. Please adhere to the waste sorting requirements. Containers with appropriate labels will be installed at the competition center for the main types of waste.
WASHING FACILITIES: The service is available until 15:00 upon presentation of the bib number at the Sports hall of Pärnu City Schools (Kuninga 29, Pärnu).
MEDAL: All finishers will receive a medal. A paid engraving service costing 5 euros will be available at the competition center. Payment is in cash. The service provider is Auhinnapood OÜ (www.auhinnapood.ee).
AWARD CEREMONY: The award ceremony will start at 13:15. The order of the ceremony is as follows: top three men and women overall, top three in the Estonian Championship, age group winners, top three in the Pärnumaa Championship age groups. Additionally, raffle prizes for runners and walkers.
RESULTS, PHOTOS AND DIPLOMAS: The results can be checked using the scanner in the competition centre and will be published as informal results on the website of the Two Bridges. The real-time results will appear on the homepage of ChampionChip Eesti OÜ. The final results (with a diploma) will be published latest on September 6th at 17.00 on organizer’s web page (a public document). The organizer has the right to use and publish all the photos and videos made by the organizer for marketing purposes.
AFTER THE RACE: Upon request, prizes that are not picked up will be delivered at the expense of the recipient after the race. Prizes can also be picked up from the Pärnu Keskus Taluturg from September 3-15 on the basis of an identity document.

CONTESTANT’S RESPONSIBILITY: Each participant is responsible for her/his health condition and ensures he/she is physically fit to complete the chosen distance. In case of a health problem contestant must cancel the race and turn to aid station or first aid station, contact the organisers, or call 112.
PRIOR TO START:
- Relax and do not start when tired.
- Drink enough water and choose appropriate meals.
- Check the weather conditions and get dressed accordingly.
- In case of hot weather wear light coloured hat. Choose suitable pace and avoid hypertension.
- Drink enough liquids in the service points.
MEDICAL CHECK: We recommend having a health check prior to the race. Health check can be done at family or sports physician.
On the day before the Two Bridges Race, August 31, in Vaasa Park:
FREE CHILDREN’S RACE: Registration and handing out race materials is between 16.00-18.35. Starts are given from 17.30 to 18.55.
FREE WHEELCHAIR RACE: Registration and handing out race materials is between16.00-16.20 o’clock. Start is given at 16.30.
FREE CONCERT BY THE 4/4 YOUTH BAND. To celebrate the active weekend, a lively concert by the 4/4 youth band will take place in Vaasa Park from 19:45 to 20:30.
PÄRNU EVENING RACE: Registration and handing out race materials is between 16.00-20.45 o’clock. Start is given at 21.00.
