Estonian summer capital Pärnu turns into Sports Capital of Estonia on September 1st and 2nd as on these dates Jüri Jaanson’s Two Bridges race is scheduled to take place – a sporty weekend full of different activities for the whole family.
The day before Two Bridges Race September 1st is traditionally for children and youth, but for the sake of creating an entertaining atmosphere, the entire program moves on to the afternoon and evening. At the heart of the change is the youth race “Sport in the night” which starts at 21.00 when the sky is already dusky. Expect to see a spectacular light show, a bit of smoke and fire. Young people aged 10 to 29 are welcome on the 3 km track. Prior to the start at 20.00 Ariadne and Martti Hallik set the mood – the concert is free for everyone.
On the same day at 17.30 start is given to Draco children’s races. All girls and boys up to 11 years can show their mettle. Also sports fans with special needs are welcome to start as traditional wheelchair race takes place – it gives the opportunity to the people whose daily exercise is complicated for various reasons to put themselves to the test.
Sports market that opens at 16.00 binds the day together by bringing sporty young people and their parents together with numerous sports clubs who will be presenting their sports facilities and services. Among others there are sports merchants who provide attractive offers for the participants and visitors.
Sunday September 2nd is traditional – at 12.00 start is given to Two Bridges Race – a 10 km track running along the banks of Pärnu River. All participants of the race and walking distance will receive a beautiful medal.
